Curriculum & this term's topic - What we are learning?
Our topic this term is Oh I do like to be beside the seaside
We will be reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction books including Lucy and Tom at the Seaside, The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch, Billy's Bucket, Sally and the Limpet, The Ocean Gardner, Dolphin Boy and a Home for Stone.
We will be thinking about the features of a beach, who lives at the beach and habitats, what we like to do at the beach and how to say safe at the beach. We will also be visiting our local zoo to learn about animal habitats.
The children will also focus on forming their taught sounds correctly each day through our daily finger fit activities. There will also be lots of mathematic opportunities during Choosing Your Own Learning time (COOL Time) focusing on visualising, building and mapping.
There will be lots of opportunity to explore our wonderful indoor and outdoor environment during COOL time igniting awe and wonder to help them develop their important vocabulary skills and understanding of the world.
